About Me
I'm originally from the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia and am currently at MIT (in my fourth and final year of undergrad) studying mechanical engineering! I decided not to pursue a graduate degree at this time because I want to see firsthand how what I learn in school is applied in the real world before I dive into more school. My primary interests are in product design, robotics, and medical devices, though I'm open to exploring new fields as well!
In addition to making things with my hands, I enjoy music (played piano and violin growing up and recently have been learning guitar), crosswords (or any word games), K-dramas, walks along the river (when the weather is nice), and excessive parentheticals (in case you couldn't tell).
I created this website from a blank template to give it a more personal touch, so I'm excited to share it with you and hope it helps get to know me a little bit!
Fun fact: the website url is inspired by my name (Sarah Park), plus a little creativity :)
Bonus fun fact: by MIT standards, I'm an officially certified pirate
Personal Highlights

Mentoring
I'm passionate about using the knowledge and skills I have to help others succeed. One of my most valuable experiences was getting to be a mentor for the MIT Women's Technology Program, a summer program designed to give under-represented high school students an opportunity to explore mechanical engineering. I've also enjoyed tutoring in various settings, from elementary to MIT students.

Servant leadership is another of my core values. I've been involved as a leader in my student organization, MIT Asian Christian Fellowship, since the spring of my freshman year and currently serve as president and community group team lead. This experience has taught me not only about group dynamics and event planning but also about leading by example in big or small ways, and learning from others.
Leadership

Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel abroad for the first time, interning in Korea through the MIT International Science and Tech-nology Initiatives (MISTI) program. Working in a foreign country, a different culture, and a language I'm not fluent in was a humbling and eye-opening experience that taught me to see from different per-spectives, step out of my comfort zone, and broaden my horizons.
